Ruskin Museum Summer Exhibition
In conjunction with CATMHS member and artist Jane Foale, CATMHS is to mount an exhibition at the Ruskin Museum, Coniston this summer. Jane’s work will focus on mineral material collected from the mines above and below ground which has provided both mental inspiration and physical materials. It will consist of a number of pieces produced through the rusting of steel or iron into copper-based pigments, and other works using contemporary water-colour paints based on iron and copper.

CATMHS will offer a collection of minerals and artefacts, and a wall mounted display based on the themes exploration, mining artefacts and structures, mining history, conservation, and minerals and mineralization. There will also be a continuously running digital display on a 40” screen which will elaborate on this and display other aspects of CATMHS’s work.
As part of the event there will be a programme of guided walks in Copper Mines Valley.
The exhibition will open on 30th June and run until 10th November.
